Using Artsonia in the Classroom

If you are an Art teacher, you know that technology is tough to get for our rooms! In the past, I would use my old iPhone and/or Nook to allow the students to photograph their artwork.

We use a website called Artsonia.com to upload student work which allows parents and family members to subscribe! If you haven't heard of Artsonia and are in TK-12 education, you MUST check it out! They even set up their site for publishing student work on merchandise of all kinds. Also, something like 20% of the profit on your classroom merchandise goes back to your room! It's awesome!

Below is a poster that I used when I taught K-5. After each project, student's wrote artist statements and then used the poster to upload their work to Artsonia. I am sure this poster is a bit out of date, however, it could help you create a center like this for your room!

A fun poster in the classroom to remind students what to do when they are done.

When students are finished with uploading their work, they check to see if their name and teacher's name are on the back of their work, then they place it in a special bin for uploaded work. This helps me know what is ready to grade.
